Year 9 GCSE Options
2026-28
2026-28
As your child approaches the start of Year 10, they will begin their Key Stage 4 journey at Croxley Danes, marking an exciting new phase in their education. This stage brings a wealth of opportunities, including the pathway to join the Croxley Danes Sixth Form post-16 and the chance to progress to higher education, apprenticeships, or employment.
At Croxley Danes, we are committed to helping every student reach their full potential, regardless of their starting point. Our Key Stage 4 curriculum offers tailored pathways designed to suit a range of abilities, ensuring that all students are well-prepared for success beyond Year 11. Our carefully chosen subject combinations have a strong track record of enabling students to transition seamlessly into A-Levels, vocational courses, apprenticeships, or employment across diverse sectors.
We encourage you to spend time with your child exploring this webpage and discussing the options available. The information within outlines the wide range of courses your child can choose from for the next academic year.
Please review these options carefully together and plan thoughtfully. We also recommend considering flexibility and including reserve choices where appropriate.
Our upcoming GCSE Options’ Evening on the 12th February will provide an overview of the Option process and offer an excellent opportunity for you and your child to explore their educational future. This includes not only the subjects they will study next year but also how these choices align with their post-16 studies and career aspirations.
The Options’ Application Form will be emailed to parents on Friday 27th February, following the Year 9 Parents' Evening.
If you have any questions or need further guidance, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We are here to support you through this important process.
