PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
NON EXAMINATION
INTRODUCTION
There are three main areas of curriculum provision within the Personal Development programme.
These are:
1. Personal, Social and Health Education [PSHE];
2. Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance [CEIAG];
3. Citizenship.
This course seeks to build on the established learning in Key Stage 3. In addition to the above, time is set aside to assist students with study skills and personal management during the GCSE course.
The course is delivered through discrete lessons taught by form tutors together with a range of invited guest speakers with expertise in particular subjects. The school also monitors the above subject material as it appears in other areas of the curriculum. (e.g. health education in the context of Science or Physical Education).
